Report a change of tenancy

Use this form to let us know if tenants are moving in or out of more than one of your properties so we can charge the right people for council tax.

If you want to tell us about a change of tenancy in one property only, you can use our self service form.

What you will need to tell us

You'll need to tell us:

  • the names of your tenants, including title
  • the property addresses
  • the start date of the tenancy for a move in
  • the end date of the tenancy for a move out
  • the property owner's name
  • the contact details of your tenants
  • the address your tenants are moving to or from

You'll need to upload this information in a spreadsheet (.xlsx).

Please do not use this form to upload single tenancy agreement or information relating to a single change. By using the correct form for single tenancy changes, we can use automation to process the change. In most cases, this means the information is updated faster. Any documents which are not Excel spreadsheets relating to multiple changes cannot be processed via this form and the information will not be registered.

If you exit the form or leave it inactive for 25 mins, you'll lose any answers you've given. You can save and resume this form later if you need to. Just click on the “Save and resume later” link at the top right corner of the screen.

You will need to enter your email address so that we can send you a reference number and instructions on how to resume your form.

You can resume the form 7 days after saving your application. After this period you will no longer be able to resume your application and will have to start a new one.
